Kathryn Toodie Teal, of Antigo, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at Langlade Hospital under the of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. She was 92 years old. She was born on August 22, 1916 in Shawano County, to Emil and Ada (Crowell) Wolf. She married Arthur F. Teal on May 18, 1936 in Waukegan, ILL.
He preceded her in death on April 9, 1983.
She attended Mattoon Grade School. Mrs. Teal was co-owner of Teals Prepared Foliage in Phlox for many years retiring in 1997. She was a leader with Phlox Flames 4-H Club for 10 years, was a member of the Phlox homemkers club and was a member of St. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo where she participated in the christian concerns committee.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice (Vernon) Mattmiller, Antigo, Karen (Richard) Opper, Antigo, one son, Arturo (Peggy) Teal, Antigo, nine grandchildren Cynthia (Guy) Lindstrom, Horeshoe Bend, Ark, Brenda (Robert II) Samolinski, Antigo, Ronald Mattmiller and special friend Jo Lynn Ahlers, Antigo, Harold (Kathy) Mattmiller, Antigo, Brian Teal, Antgio, Kathleen (Brad) Puls, Antigo, Sandra Teal, Antigo, Carl (Carrie) Opper, Phlox, Curt (Gina) Opper, Mattoon, 16 great grandchildren Joshua, Kerri, Nicole, Kristen, RJ III, Stephanie, Brandon, Michael, Kyle, Shawn, Aaron, Ethan, Emile, Tysen, Austin, Hanna, and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson Daniel Teal, a sister Inez Leimbauch, a brother Mel Wolf.
The funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Phlox. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. all at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
