Ernest Rohrer
February 6, 1926 - May 28, 2009

Ernest Ernie Rohrer, of Antigo, died Thursday, at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and his family. He was 83 years old. He was born on February 6, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Leopold and Myrtle (Raab) Rohrer. He married Shirley Bitters on June 16, 1962 in Rhinelander. She survives.

He was a veteran of WWII having served from July 12, 1944 to July 24, 1946. Mr. Rohrer was employed for the Waukesha Rubber Company for several years. He worked as an equipment operator for Spancrete in Waukesha for many years retiring in 1989. After retirement he moved to Antigo.

Survivors including his wife are a daughter Debra Roberts and her special friend Danny Turley, Antigo, a son Randy (Jean) Rohrer, Waukesha, a step daughter, Minerva, 3 grandchildren, Terryn Rohrer, Waukesha, Natasha Rohrer and special friend Buddy Krause and Heather Roberts, all of Antigo a great-grandchild Kegan Krause, a sister, Irene Kontos, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charlie Rohrer, and a sister Frances Hunt.

Services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Strong officiating. Burial will take place in Springbrook Cemetery, Lincoln County. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites following services at the funeral home.
