Cletis Clete Messer
October 28, 1933 - June 19, 2009

Cletis Clete Messer, of White Lake, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 75 years old. He was born on October 28, 1933 in White Lake, to Robert and Ida (Boyd) Messer. He married Ethel Whitt on May 10, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa. She survives.

He served in the United States Army from 1955 - 1957 having been stationed in Germany. Mr. Messer worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and retired in 1996. He was a member of The Operating Engineers Union Local 139. Music was an important part of his life having been a member of The Grudgeville Sod Busters, The Gospel Starliters, and most recently Gary DeHart's Basement Buddies. He was a member of Four Corners Assembly of God Church and was active in the music ministry.

Survivors including his wife are two daughters, Rhonda (Jeff) Wickersheim, White Lake, Rebecca (Daniel) Granquist, Powers, Mich, a son, Roger (Patty) Messer, Goodyear, Ariz., a sister, Lyda (Ray) Davis, Antigo, 5 brothers, James (Florence) Messer, Antigo, Chester (Jessie) Messer, Antigo, Paul Messer, White Lake, Virgil (Mary) Messer, Lake Havasu City, Ariz, Curtis Messer, Polar, ten grandchildren, Benjamin (Tara) Wickersheim, Shawn (fiancee Kristen Nazak), and Sam Wickersheim, Katie, Joshua, and Sarah Granquist, Shianti (Brian) Barbara, Corinne, Maxwell and Zoe Messer, three great-grandchildren, Iva and Arrow Barbara, Haedyn Wickersheim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Esther Messer, 4 brothers, Arlie, Jesse, Estel and Clifford Messer.

Services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God Church, White Lake with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Langlade Cemetery where the Anderson-Sather American Legion Post 524 of White Lake will conduct military rites. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and on Monday at the church one hour prior to services.
