Carol DeGrant
July 13, 1931 - July 16, 2009

Carol Mae DeGrant of Elcho, WI died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Langlade Hospital in the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. Carol was born in Milwaukee on July 13, 1931 to Harold and Esther (Kleck) Puhle. She graduated from Milwaukee King High School. On October 4,1952 in Milwaukee, she married her husband of 57 years, Louis who preceded her in death by a mere 3 months.
Carol worked side by side with Louis as they built their future together. They built, owned, and ran Tech-Cast Foundry in Montague, MI. After they sold the foundry, they moved to Romeo, MI and began a new adventure together. Carol managed the office and day to day activities of their import/export business, Metals, Castings and Machining Company, in Romeo, MI. In 1981 they retired and moved to Elcho, WI.
After retirement Carol and Lou enjoyed owning DeGrant's Lake Metonga Supper Club in Crandon, WI. Carol was an exceptional Mother, friend and business woman. A quick wit and wry sense of humor were her trademarks. Carol loved to read, cook and talk on the telephone with her children.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Louis, her parents, Esther and Harold Puhle, and her brother Glenn Puhle.
Carol is survived by her 3 children, Luanne Wolfe, Hale, MI, Kent DeGrant (Donna Boomer) Elcho and Kelly (Peter) DeGrant-Vissers, DePere, WI. 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with another one on the way. Also surviving Carol is her special nephew and Godson, Brent (Nancy) Puhle, Waukesha,WI.
The family would like to thank Dr. L. Deep for her loving care of Mom. Thank you to Sister Dolores and Sister Adelle for their compassion, care and peace brought to Mom and our family while at Langlade Hospital and in LeRoyer Hospice. Another special thank you goes out to Donna Boomer for her special care of Mom since Dad passed.
At Carol's request there will be no services.
