Kenneth Fassbender
January 14, 1931 - August 4, 2009

Kenneth Fassbender, of Deerbrook, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 78 years old. He was born on January 14, 1931 in Black Creek to Clarence and Esther(Barth) Fassbender. He married JoAnn Csuy on Nov. 3, 1951 in Crandon. She survives.

He was raised in Black Creek where as a member of the Boy Scouts of America he attained the rank of Life Scout. As a teenager he worked for a vegetable farmer. He moved to Star Neva as a young man where he worked for Vern Rine Potato Farm and for the Jesdahl saw mill in Deerbrook. In 1951 he began his career with C. A. Hooper Company until retirement in 1983. During retirement he worked seasonally for Seidl Farms. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and a member of the Antigo Snow Drifters and Neva Nomads Snomobile clubs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Survivors along with his wife are four daughters, Kathy (Leon) Antoniewicz, Schofield, Pat (Gary) Benes, Lewistown, MT, Barb (Jim) Honzik, Deerbrook, Piper (Tom) Desy, Escanaba, MI, three sons, Robert (fiancee' Candy Robinson) Fassbender, Star Neva, Jim (Peggy) Fassbender, Bryant, Jerry Fassbender, Antigo, two sisters, Bev (Dick) Fleischer, Mesa, AZ, Janet (Edward) Baranowski, Stickney, IL, 14 grandchildren Amy (Joe) Szarkowitz, Jake and Jamie Benes, Jodi Hanne, Ashley (Mike) Darr, Scott, Jeff, Stephanie and Ryan Fassbender, Aaron and Annie Fassbender, Amanda, Zack and Mitchell Desy, three great grandchildren Kaitlyn and Matt Hanne and AirRihanna Williams.

He was preceded in death by parents and stepfather, Joe Zdrazil and a brother, Robert.

Services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Burial will take place in Star Neva Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
