Robert Bob Markgraf
October 12, 1937 - September 12, 2009

Robert Bob Markgraf of Antigo died September 12, 2009 at St. Clares Hospital in Weston. He was 71 years old. He was born October 12, 1937 in Antigo to the late Clarence and Mary (Krosnicki)Markgraf.

He married Barbara Igl on June 23, 1962 at St. John Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 24,1996.

He graduated from Antigo High School class of 1956.

Mr. Markgraf tended bar at his families tavern, Markey's Bar in Antigo. He also helped his Dad on the potato farm. He worked 15 years at the Vulcan Corp., Antigo, the last five years as a foreman. He owned and operated Robert Markgraf potato farm in the town of Antigo for many years and retired in May 1997.

Mr. Markgraf belonged to St. John Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the MSGR Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002, all of Antigo. He was an avid auction attendee and enjoyed collecting.

Survivors include his, two daughters, Bonnie (Bryan) Manzeck, Milwaukee, Brenda Markgraf Antigo; a son Bart Markgraf Antigo; five Grandchildren: Sarah, Joseph, Michael, Katie, and Quinn. He is further survived by a sister Janie Markgraf of Antigo; and a brother Gene Butch (Nancy) Markgraf Post Lake.

In addition to his wife,he was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law Mary Markgraf.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 16, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffman officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:30 to 8:00 pm at the Bradley Funeral Home with a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 at the funeral home.
