Harvey Mach
September 7, 1929 - September 18, 2009

Harvey Mach, of Antigo, died Friday, September 18, 2009 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 80 years old. He was born on September 7, 1929 in Antigo to John F. and Louise (Servi) Mach. He married Josie Winters May of 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. The couple later divorced. He was married to Judy Hopkins for a year. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Tatro Pavek with whom he has been with for the past 20 years.

He owned and operated Mach Farms Inc. which operated potato farms in Nekoosa, Alabama and Florida; along with a trucking company and potato brokerage business. He also owned Antigo Truck and Equipment. Mr. Mach retired in the early 1980s, but continued working as an independent commodities trader to present.

He held a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade, served on the Board of Directors for Bank One in Antigo for 36 years. He had numerous business investments including ownership in the Gold Coast Bird of Paradise bowling alley and bar, Hardees, Cutlass Motor Lodge, Parkway Container Service and Josie's Spraying Service.

Mr. Mach was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 662 both in Antigo.
As an instrument licensed pilot, he enjoyed flying his own plane and spent many hours riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He was an avid sports fan and assisted many with their gaming interests, and enjoyed hunting and fishing having piloted many trips out west.

Survivors including his wife Marjorie, are Josie Mach the mother of his children, three daughters, Lana (David) Gray, Antigo, Lisa (Jerry) Ourada, Broomfield, Colo, Lynn Mach, Waupaca, a son, Thomas (Karen) Mach, Antigo, a sister, Mary (James) Wild, Antigo, eight grandchildren, Stacy (Michael) Beck, Antigo, Kristin (Ryan) Ramthun, Winneconne, Amanda (Peter) Orne, Lakeland, MN, Jordan Mach, Antigo, Shannon Ourada, Broomfield, CO, Ryan Ourada, Broomfield, Co, Jeffrey Mach Jr., San Diego, CA, Jennifer (Michael) Sojourner, Crystal Springs, Mississippi, three great grandchildren Simon Beck, Charlie Sojourner, and Sullivan Ramthun, two step daughters, Jolynn McKinnon and special friend Mark Koprek, Green Bay, Jacquelyn (Gary) Smits, Antigo, two step sons, Joseph (Julie) Pavek III, Salinas, CA, Jeffrey (Becky) Pavek, Cambridge, six step grandchildren, Robert McKinnon, Green Bay, Samantha and Jackson Smits, Antigo, Jamie and Jessie Pavek, Salinas, CA, Jonah Pavek, Cambridge, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Mary, one son, Jeffrey Mach Sr., four brothers, John, Tony, Wencel and Clarence Mach, three sisters , Lucy Mach, Margaret Eckart and Loretta Kaminski

Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday at Bradley Funeral Home from 3:30 to 8 p.m. with a parish wake service at 4 p.m. and an Elks Lodge of Sorrow at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
His most enjoyable days were mornings spent at his computer, a stop at BB Jacks to make his drops, and an afternoon gin game at the Elks Club. Sunday morning after leaving Mass at St. John's "early" to attend a service at St. James (also known as Reif's).

In lieu of flowers memorials are being established to the Volm Cancer Center and the Langlade County Humane Society.
