Lucena Clavette

Lucena Clavette, of Antigo, died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at her home. She was 94 years old. She was born on June 3, 1915 in Wabeno to Jacob and Lena (Nelson) Schilleman. She married Sidney Clavette on October 21, 1933 at Crystal Falls, MI. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1987.
She graduated from Wabeno High School in 1932.
Following her marriage she lived in Laona, Silver Lake and moved to Antigo in 1940. Mrs. Clavette worked at Montgomery Ward and Spurgeon Stores in Antigo for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading, family gatherings, was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR races. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo for 69 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Kenneth) Bolle, Antigo, Carol (Oral) Schultz, Antigo, a son, Richard (Margaret) Clavette, Bass Lake and Florida, 11 grandchildren 15 great Grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Kenneth, three brothers Harry, Ivern and Jake Schilleman, four sisters Mildred Redmen, Rosemary Braun, Florence Simons and Arlene Reese.
In keeping with Lucena's wishes, private family services will be held.
A memorial is being established to Faith United Church of Christ 628 Clermont Street in Antigo.
