Eva Hoffman
September 12, 1915 - October 19, 2009

Eva M. Hoffman, of Pickerel died Monday, Oct 19, 2009 at Nu Roc Nursing Home in Blackwell. She was 94 years old. She was born on September 12, 1915 in Pearson to the late Elmer and Luella (Thorn) Powell.
She married Edwin A. Hoffman on November 7, 1945 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1978.

She graduated from Antigo High School and Langlade County Teachers College with honors. She taught elementary school for 10 years at the Forest Dale School at Grams Coroner, the Pickerel and Lily schools
She also worked as a waitress for her uncle Lonnie at Powell's supper club in Antigo.

She is a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Pickerel and the Ladies Aid. She taught and directed Sunday school, vacation bible school and catechism.
She and her husband operated a mink ranch after their marriage until 1967. From 1967 until 1977 they owned and operated a dairy farm in Pickerel. Mrs. Hoffman and her husband were also rural mail carriers for over 30 years.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and watching her sons sporting events

Survivors include three sons, Edward (Linda) Hoffman, Rochelle, IL Alfred (Rosemary) Hoffman, Madison,
Robert (Terry) Hoffman, Noblesville, Indiana, six grandchildren, Todd Hoffman, Grant (Robin) Hoffman, Jason (Rebecca) Hoffman, Any (Jose) Santin, Kay Hoffman, Molly Hoffman, 10 great grandchildren a brother, Floyd Powell, Antigo two sisters, Ruby Dalton Antigo and Virginia (Ben) Clark Pickerel, two sisters-in-law, Donna Powell, Pearson and Lorraine Powell Stevens Point and brother-in-law, Donald Malitz Pearson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Armond (Nellie) Powell, Elmer (Helen) Powell, Jr, Donald Powell, and Ervin Powell, three sisters, Jeanette (Herman) Wissbroecker, Nannette Malitz, and Charlotte Powell and a brother-in-law Wayne Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Pickerel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Michael Mathey officiating. Burial will take place in the Pearson Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home from 3:30 pm - 7 pm and Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church from 9 to 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Ladies Aid and Sunday school at St. John Lutheran church.

Eva was loved by many and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She had a warm smile, a big heart, and was full of energy.
She made us feel loved, through her delicious cooking and her kind words. We love you and we miss you.
