Dorothy Turney, of Antigo, died Wednesday, at Langalde Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 81 years old. She was born on June 16, 1928, in Antigo to Reinhardt and Anna (Kempf) Vahl. She married Robert Turney on March 7, 1947 in Shawano. He Survives.
A lifelong resident of Antigo she graduated from Antigo High School in 1946. She worked at the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and for seventeen years at Amron Corporation. She was a partner with her daughter in the Whistle Stop Tavern. She is a member of St. Ambrose Episcopal Church.
Survivors including her husband are a daughter Peggy Dodd, Antigo; a son Michael Turney and fiancee Susan Hill , Antigo; a sister Gertrude Daley, West Bend, four grandchildren Jeffrey (Rhonda) Dodd, Deerbrook, William (Elizabeth) Dodd, Appleton, Stephen (Michele) Turney, Birnamwood, Erin (Michael) Baginski, Antigo; seven great granddaughters Stephanie Biagoni, Gabrielle and Alexis Dodd, Grace and Maggie Baginski, Chloe and Lily Dodd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Henry Vahl, four sister, Margaret Meyer, Betty Blatecki, Alma Koles and Edna Turney.
Services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
