Lawrence G. Wild

Lawrence G. Wild, of Antigo, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home. He was 81 years old. He was born on June 5, 1928 in Antigo a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Steber) Wild.

He attended Fernwood School in the town of Rolling. He proudly served in the United States Army from July 18, 1951 to April 18, 1953 as a Heavy Equipment Operator during the Korean War.

He was employed by Milk Bottle Crate Company in Antigo before working at his twin brothers farm, Wild Seed Farm Inc., for 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching western movies.

Survivors include two sisters, Lorraine (John) Turney Antigo and Mary Preboski Antigo; three brothers, twin brother Leonard (Mary) Wild Antigo, James (Mary Ann) Wild Antigo and Raymond (Betty) Wild Antigo; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wild Antigo, Delores Wild Weyauwega and Dawn Wild Antigo; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Clarence, Floyd and Joseph Wild and two brothers-in-law, Robert Preboski and Tony Zenisek.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery where Antigo Veterans will perform Military Rites. Visitation will be Friday from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm with a parish wake service at 4:00 pm at the Bradley Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the funeral home.
