Stella Gehr
April 17, 1919 - March 31, 2010

Stella Gehr, of 702 Deleglise St. in Antigo, died Wednesday March 31, 2010 at Langlade Hospital under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 90 years old. She was born on April 17, 1919 in Bryant, a daughter of William Ed and Laura (Davis) Bratton.

She was raised in Bryant, lived in Rhinelander for a number of years and moved to Antigo in 1969. She married Arnold Nance, the couple later divorced. She married Charles Day and he preceded her in death. She was married to Gordon Wilcox who also preceded her in death then married Mike Gehr who preceded her in death. She enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and following local stock car races. At age 81 she began following local football and basketball teams.


Survivors include nine daughters Audrey (James) Shepherd, Rhinelander, Barbara Littlefield, Antigo, Janet Piasecki, Rhinelander, Linda Knight, Eudora, AR, Mary (Mike) Hollands, Rhinelander, Candace Day, Antigo, Cheryl (Roger) Mengel, Antigo, Laurie (Don) Rasmussen, Antigo, Betty Lewis, Antigo; two sons William (Rene) Nance, Elkhorn and Tom Day, Antigo, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great gandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Thiel, a son, Eugene Day, a brother, Virgil Bratton, two sisters, Gladys Hodson, and Lona Bratton.

Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 until the time of services on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
