Elizabeth Mary Lauby, Bessie of Antigo, died Friday, April 23, 2010 under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 97 years old. She was born on October 12, 1912 in Antigo a daughter of the late Aloysius and Mary (Randl) Aulik. She married Nickolas Lauby on March 4, 1935 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1985.
She was a member of St. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed painting, sewing and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Welnetz, Antigo; six grandchildren, Mark (Kim) Welnetz, Ponte Vedra, FL, Lisa Welnetz (John Walker), Antigo, Lynn Welnetz(Cathy Sperry), Antigo, Lora Grams, Rhinelander, Stephen (Shari) Welnetz, Antigo and Mary (Tom) Kubeny, Antigo; 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ernest Welnetz; two grandsons-in-law, Dale Quirk and Greg Zabrowski; a brother, Joe Aulik and a sister, Dorothy Kakes.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the funeral Mass on Tuesday at the church.
