Alice Janssen
July 25, 1928 - May 9, 2010

Alice Janssen, of Antigo, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, surrounded by her family at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 81 years old. She was born on July 25, 1928 in the Town of Rolling, a daughter of Anton and Lillian (Walszak) Noskowiak. She married Jerome Janssen on September 24, 1947 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2006.

She is a graduate of Antigo High School.
After high school she worked in Manitowoc at National Tinsel Factory and later in Antigo at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory. She raised her family in the Town of Norwood on the family dairy farm. She was a member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church and the St. Anne Society. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and canning.

Survivors include four daughters Judy (Daniel) Dewey, Mary Janssen and Carol Meade, all of Antigo, Cheryl (Terry) Schroepfer, Chippewa Falls; three sons Gary (Diane) Janssen, Green Bay, Joe and George Janssen, Antigo; two sisters Marion Nonnemacher, Manitowoc, Joan Jacobson of Antigo and her special friend Don Hoffman; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law Betty Noskowiak, Antigo, Louise Noskowiak, Ohio, Eileen Janssen, Arizona, Alice Janssen, Nashotah; two brothers-in-law Charles Stetina, Antigo, James (Sue) Janssen, Tempe, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome, seven brothers, Daniel, Thomas, Frank, Anton, Paul, Henry, Eugene, a sister, Cecelia Noskowiak, two great grandchildren, and a son-in-law, James Meade.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church in Phlox with Rev. David Keifer and Deacon Tom Hartman officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A parish wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
