Bertha Gleich
November 10, 1923 - May 18, 2010

Bertha Gleich, of Deerbrook, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 86 years old. She was born on November 10, 1923 in Colman a daughter of the late Jerry and Arvilla (Hooper) Kunik. She married Harry Gleich on May 29, 1942 in Oconto Falls. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2009.

She was a graduate of Messenger Creek School in Colman. She farmed with her husband and son in the town of Neva until 1983. The farm is now owned by the fourth generation of the Gleich family and has celebrated a Century of family ownership. She also drove school bus for 29 years. Mrs. Gleich was a leader for the Little Chicago 4H Club and active with the Little Chicago Homemakers Club. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren and square dancing with the Gateway Squares. Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and tending to her violets.

Survivors include a son Gerald (Becky) Gleich, Deerbrook; 4 grandchildren, Ann (Randy) Krueger, Merrill, Tom (Jean) Gleich, Merrill, Molly (Tim) Photenhauer, Merrill and Rachel (Donald) Schroeder, Deerbrook; 4 great-grandchildren, Zach and Abbi Krueger, Claire Photenhauer and Dale Jerald DJ Schroeder; a sister-in-law, Emily Klapste, Antigo; and brother-in-law, Pete (Rosamund) Gleich, Lancaster, KY.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter in infancy, Dawn and a brother, Warren Kunik.

Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Burial will take place in Neva Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 - 8:00 PM on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 12:30 PM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Langlade County 4H Leaders Association for repairs to Camp Susan.
