Floyd E. Gibson
March 14, 1935 - June 1, 2010

Floyd E. Gibson, of Antigo, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was 75 years old. He was born on March 14, 1935 in Alabama, a son of the late Enon and Carrie (McGhee) Gibson. He is survived by his wife of 25 years the former Sharon McGhee. They were married January 19, 1985 at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church, Antigo. His first marriage to Charlene (Fondow) Gibson ended in divorce.

He was a tribal elder of the Poarch Creek Nation in Alabama. Mr. Gibson moved to Antigo in his early twenties and was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters, Shawna (Randy) Liebergen, Antigo and Leatha Gibson, Wausau; seven step-sons, Kevin Clark (fiancé Cathy), Sturgeon Bay, Larry (Shirley) Clark, Wausau, Paul (Lori) McGhee, Jefferson, Wilton (Michelle) McGhee Jr., Deerbrook, Henry McGhee, Antigo, Jason (Nicole) McGhee, Rhinelander and Joseph (Bobbi) McGhee, Antigo; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, five sisters and a sister-in-law.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Spaude officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home
