Shirley Shannon, of Antigo, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at her home surrounded by family and under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 59 years old. She was born on October 17, 1950 in Ironwood, Michigan a daughter of Hilding and Ruth (Erikson) Norman. She married James Shannon on November 10, 1980 in Bessemer, Michigan. He survives.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a avid Packer, Brewer and Nascar fan.
In addition to her husband survivors include a daughter, Erin Elizabeth (Nicholas) Radtke, Birnamwood; four grandchildren, Brynn, Brooklyn, Jaiden and Kenai Radtke; four sisters, Mary Turonie, Merrill, Joan (John) Zanella, Iowa, Karen Lauren, Gurney and Arlene Slais, Ashland; two brothers, Bruce (Roxann) Norman, Iowa and John (Nancy) Norman, Alaska. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Cean; two sisters, Norma Kretzschmar and Marvel Klinger and two brothers Allan Norman and Eugene Norman.
A gathering to celebrate her life will take place at the Antigo VFW Club, 1216 Elm Street, on Sunday, September 12 beginning at 2:30 p.m.
