Frank Andrew Grgurich
May 8, 1939 - February 4, 2018

MADISON- Frank A. Grgurich, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away after a long battle with prostate cancer at the age of 78 on Sunday, February 4, 2018 with family by his side. Frank was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1939, son of Roy and Josephine (Abromavich) Grgurich.

He was united in marriage to Carol Ebel in 1962. She was the love of his life. They had 4 children and have lived in Madison since 1973.

Frank was accepted to Iowa State with a joint baseball and mathematics scholarship when he was 16 years old. After graduating, he spent 26 years with Sears Roebuck & Co., including 16 years as COO of the Madison West Towne Mall store. After Sears, he worked as a financial planner and enjoyed servicing southern Wisconsin. Driving around the country roads listening to music was a perfect day for him.

Frank was a prolific reader, enjoyed music, fishing, deer hunting, racquetball and spending time with his grandchildren. He never showed up empty handed, generally with cheese, wine, some chocolate and a warm smile. His grandchildren lovingly called him Poppy.

Frank is survived by his four children: Paula (Darrell) Bosch, Matt (Deborah) Grgurich, Annie (Chris) McGrath and Katie (Ben) Grawe; ten grandchildren; Brandon, Nathan, David, & Melissa Bosch, Evie Grgurich, Caitlin & Griffin McGrath, Henry, Olive & Felix Grawe and his sister; Loretta (Norm) Brady. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Carol and his son-in-law Chris McGrath.

The service will be held at MOUNT OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 110 North Whitney Way in Madison on Thursday, February 8 at 11:00am. There will be a visitation before the funeral beginning at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute.

Frank had a strong, loving spirit and will be greatly missed.
