Raymond E. Rickman
November 1, 1928 - October 13, 2010

Raymond Edward Rickman, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at The Briarwood Nursing Home in Stow Ohio. He was 81 years old. He was born on November 1, 1928 in Antigo, a son of Edward and Gladys (Simmet) Rickman. He married Azalia Wirt of Wausau in April 1952. The couple later divorced.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School and served in the United States Army in occupied Japan and later a tour of duty in the Korean War where he earned a Purple Heart Medal.

He lived in Mundelein and Round Lake Park, Illinois.

Mr. Rickman worked as a production manager McLean-Fogg in Mundeline and later worked as a bar manager at Mundelein Lanes.

He was a member of the Mundelein American Legion Post #867 and frequented other American Legion Posts including Post #1170 in Round Lake Park and Post #3 in Antigo.

Survivors include a son Michael (Dawn) Rickman, Akron, Ohio, two grandchildren Martin and Rebekah Rickman, a sister Geraldine Cline, Wausau, a very close friend Marlene Hoppe, Grayslake, Ill., and beloved neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters Donna Swanson, Jean Hayes, Bernadette Rickman, Joan Mattmiller, Mary Baures, and an ex-wife Azalia Lenzen.

Services will be held on Monday October 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery Veterans section where the Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
