Daniel R. Selig
November 4, 1930 - December 5, 2010

Daniel R. Selig, of Elcho, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 80 years old. He was born on November 4, 1930 in Appleton a son of Raymond and Veronica (Tracy) Selig. He married Joyce Biettler on September 12, 1953 in Appleton. She survives.

He attended Appleton High School and served in the United States Army. He began his plumbing career in his father's business, R. Selig and Sons. As he pursued his career he became a Master Plumber, Superintendent and Construction Manager for large commercial contractors. He was most proud of working on projects such as Sentry Insurance, Miller Brewing Company and the Mall of America.

He was a member of Noetzelman-Boodry American Legion Post 377, Elcho and the Plumbers and Fitters Local 458/400.

He enjoyed RV Traveling throughout the United States, fishing, gardening and volunteering for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Mary Rose (Jack) Brayton, Hollister, Connie (Don) Brayton, Gleason, Amy (John) Binversie, Pickerel and Lori (James) Cardinal, Fond du Lac; twelve grandchildren, Danny James Brayton, Gena Marie (Timothy) Hummel, Robert (Maggie) Brayton, Jeffrey Brayton, Jacqulyn (Bob) Duchan, Joseph (fiancée Megan) Brayton, Michael Brayton, Joseph (Krissy) Binversie, Katie Binversie, Melissa Cardinal, Matthew Cardinal and Eric Cardinal; eleven great-grandchild; a brother, Carleton Selig, Appleton; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Rose Selig.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Upper Room Family Church, Elcho with Rev. Russ Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at the church.
