Gerald Parsons
July 7, 1933 - January 8, 2011

Gerald Parsons, a former Antigo resident died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Kindred Hearts Memory Care in Cottage Grove. He was 77 years old. He was born on July 7, 1933 in Antigo, a son of Roy and Nina (Hill) Parsons. He married Marilyn Krueger on October 11, 1952 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Polar. His wife survives and resides in Sun Prairie.

He attended Franklin, Maple Grove and Embarrass grade schools and graduated from Mattoon High School in 1951.

He served in the United States Army from October 13, 1953 to October 14, 1955 having been stationed in the state of Washington.

Gerald was a dairy farmer in the Town of Polar for 11 years and worked for the city of Antigo for 23 years retiring on July 14, 1995.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo, Badgerland Classics and Custom Car Club and enjoyed traveling to Arizona.

Survivors include his wife, two sons Douglas Parsons of Cataula, Georgia, John (Beth) Parsons, Sun Prairie; a sister Sandra (Robert) Pregler, Antigo; six grandchildren Kara, Shelly, Cody, Melaina, Sierra and Kendra; a great grandson Remington.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and a daughter-in-law Jeanette Parsons.

A service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Polar. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Memorials may be dropped off at the funeral home.
