John Perry
November 17, 1935 - February 14, 2011

John Perry, of Elcho, died Monday, February 14, 2011 in Oshkosh. He was 75 years old. He was born on November 17, 1935 in Town of Lafayette, Chippewa County, a son of the late Orva and Gladys (Elliott) Perry.

He graduated from Elcho High School with the class of 1955.

Mr. Perry served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1978 serving two tours of duty in Viet Nam then working as a supervisor in supplies having been stationed throughout the world.

Following military service he worked as a supervisor for a security company, drove school bus for the Omro and Elcho school districts, worked for the town of Elcho sanitation department and was a security guard at the Mole Lake Casino.

He served as chairman for the town of Elcho town board and was a member of the Sparks Doernenburg American Legion Post #3 in Antigo, and the Langlade Counhty Voiture 1204 40 et 8.

Mr. Perry will long be remembered as a baseball umpire and basketball refree.

Survivors include a brother Russell Perry, Oshkosh, an Aunt Donna Rice, Antigo; three nephews Russell Perry Jr., Arlingting Heights, Ill, David Perry, Baltimore, Maryland, Daniel Perry, Oshkosh; a niece Beth (Nate) Kinzel, Appleton and a great-nephew Philip Kinzel, Appleton.

Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites following the services at the funeral home. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

His family would like to thank the doctors at the Veterans Hospitals in Iron Mountain, Michigan and Milwaukee; Dr. Duffy; Visiting Nurses of Oshkosh, especially Jessie; Aurora Hospice Care and nurse Joan, aid Lynnae, and Dan; also St. Raphaels Catholic Church in Oshkosh, Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho, and SS. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo; plus friends for their prayers, care and support.
