Marguerite Raisch
June 27, 1909 - February 25, 2011

Marguerite Peg Raisch, of Antigo, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 101 years old. She was born on June 27, 1909 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Edward and Margerite (Schnackenberg) Parnkopf. She married Robert Raisch in 1936 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1965.

She was a graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee.

In 1947 the couple moved to St. Germain, where they operated Raisch's Lake Content Resort for 13 years, during which time she was also employed as a secretary for the DNR in Woodruff. In 1961 they moved to Montana. She returned to Wisconsin in 1966 and resided in Antigo and was employed by the DNR until she retired in 1974. After retirement she had numerous part-time jobs. Her last being secretary for Faith United Church of Christ.

She was an active member of the Dorcas Society of Peace Lutheran Church, member and past president of the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2653 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Suburban Homemakers Club.

She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. Her enjoyment of giving gifts made Christmas her favorite time of year.

Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie (Neal) Pence, Crandon, Virginia (Harold) O'Marro, Rhinelander and Diane (John) Ecker, Antigo; a son, Robert (Valerie) Raisch, Ocala, FL; six grandchildren, Stacey (Thomas) Nelson, Shelley O'Marro, Shannon (Christopher) Lading, Ryan O'Marro (Jane Hegewald), Thomas Ecker and Carrie (Troy) Zahrt; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by twin brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church.
