Gerald "Jerry" Younk
January 7, 1935 - February 11, 2018

Gerald "Jerry" Younk, of Post Lake, met his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Rosalia Gardens under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 83 years old. He was born on January 7, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Al and Paula (Weber) Younk. He married Karen Gorecki on September 4, 1965, in Milwaukee.

Jerry served in the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a Plumber for many years in the Milwaukee area. He was also a hobby farmer who enjoyed gardening and raising small animals. In 1998 he moved from Franklin to Post Lake.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a founding member of The Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho.

Other achievements include having a black belt in Karate and being a bicyclist, he went on many bike trips in the United States and one in Ireland.

He was a lover of dogs and they loved him.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Karen; two daughters, Mary Younk and Eileen Younk both of Milwaukee; three sons, Nathan (Sarah) Younk of Milwaukee, Phil (Gina) Younk of Elcho and Joe (Heather) Younk of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren, Silas McPhail, Laona and Gwen Younk, Alicia and Joshua Younk, Olivia and Zachery Younk, Michael Montemayor, and Nicole (Jason) Stern; a great-grandson, John Stern; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas Gorecki of New Berlin and Charles Gorecki of Eau Claire. Jerry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Judy Younk.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Rev. Dave Zimmerman officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and Saturday, February 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. A parish wake service will be held Friday, February 23 at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

He with a handful of others founded the club in 1965. the club now contains over 25,000 records of Deer & Bear trophies.
