" I only knew Jack for the last 4 yrs and was
hired by his family to serve as Care Giver for Jack and give him some companionship a few days a week. It wasn't long after meeting him I could see what a special person he was. His personality was full of wit, humor,
and an extrodinary compassion and respect for others. We passed the time telling stories of our experiences in life and Jack had many to tell. His memories of his service in WWII as a shipboard Marine aboard the USS San Francisco were fascinating. I learned of his passion for dancing, when he was a younger man, and felt how he must miss those days now that he had to walk with the aid of a cane. He loved nature and really loved being close to the water such as a lake or river. I would drive Jack to his lakefront house where we would sit and watch the geese and other waterfowl come and go. Or, be surprised when an occasional large fish would jump on the water. His face would light up when he saw something outside that really grabbed his attention and he would look at me and say "Did you see that?!!" I would give him a big smile and say "I sure did".
I can honestly say Jack T Harroun was one of the finest people I have had the honor and privilege to know. His memory will always be with me. "Thank you Jack"
