BRADLEY, JAMES ERNEST
SUN PRAIRIE-James Ernest Bradley, age 82, died on Feb. 19, 2018, in Sun Prairie after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Jim was born on July 19, 1935, the only child of Ernest and Adaline Bradley. He lived and farmed his entire life in Sun Prairie on a farm that has been in the Bradley name since 1848. Jim graduated from Sun Prairie High School in May,1953. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Paul, on Sep. 26, 1953, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.

Besides farming, Jim was very active in his community. He served on the pastoral council, school board, was township treasurer, ASCS committee, Wisconsin Federation of Cooperatives board, and Wisconsin Community Bank board. In 1996, Jim was named Master Agriculturist by the Wisconsin Agriculturist Magazine. He served 25 years on the Cenex (Landmark) coop board. One of Jim's proudest accomplishments was being named to state advisory boards by both Democratic Governor Marty Schreiber and Republican Governor Tommy Thompson.

Jim adhered to the philosophy of work hard and play hard. In early family years, Jim was an avid snowmobiler and warm summer Sundays found the family boating on the Wisconsin River. The Bradleys enjoyed attending Packer and Badger games. Jim and Char traveled extensively both in the U.S. and to Europe. Jim and Char wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ for 25 years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Char of Sun Prairie; son, Jerry of Sun Prairie; son, Jeff (Janell) of Wadena, IA; daughter, Jenny (Andy Czerkas) of Madison; son, Mark (Leah) of Sun Prairie; daughter, Kay (Kevin Inabnet) of McFarland; grandchildren, Cheryl Bradley, Bridget (Trevor) Lapham, Sarah Bradley, Ryan (Janette) Bradley, Laura Bradley, Rachael (Alex) Flores, Michaela Bradley, and Emily Inabnet; and six great-grandchildren, Lillianna and James Lapham, Luke Bradley, Tyler, DeeAnn and Kristin Starks.

"Our sympathy to Char and her family on Jim's passing. It was our pleasure to know him and share good times in both Sun Prairie and Lake Havasu.
