Sunset February 17, 2018

Sarah was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, to Horace and Christobelle Abrahams, nee Fitz Ritson. At the age of 8, Sarah and her family emigrated to Queens, New York, where she would later graduate from New York City College and become a Dental Hygienist in June 1964.

In 1971, she married the love of her life, Carlton Francis, with whom she shared 47 beautiful years. The couple departed Queens and relocated to Miami, then Miramar, before settling down in Pembroke Pines, Florida, in 1980. At that time, Sarah decided to continue her education and went on to graduate from Miami-Dade College as a Registered Nurse in December 1982. Before her retirement in 2011, Sarah worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami for 18 years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling, reading, shopping, roller-skating, playing tennis and dancing. She also was very fond of parakeets.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. Sarah always expressed kindness to others. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten by her family and friends. Sarah will be remembered today, tomorrow and forevermore in our hearts. We shall be reunited again one day.

Survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Carlton Francis; loving son, Steve Francis and daughter in-law Mary Francis; two adored grandchildren, Taliyah and Sean Francis; dear sister, Barbara "Betty" Wilkes brother, William "Trevor" Abrahams and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Maureen Rose wrote on Feb 21, 2018:

"I will always treasure my friendship with Sally which spanned all of 50 years. we connected in 1968 when I came to New York and we had such a wonderful time going to the "basement" parties in Brooklyn that were the thing at that time. I would travel to Springfield Gardens to spend the weekends with her and then it would be to the beach to pose on our towels. When I moved to Florida in 1998 with my family, Sally and Carlton were there to support us in so many ways. When I moved back to Canada after my husband's passing Sally and Carlton opened their home to me whenever I wanted a break from our harsh Winters. Sally may you rest in peace, I will miss you."
