Helen K. Ingvoldstad age 95, of Northcrest Community of Ames died Saturday, February 24, 2018. A gathering of friends and family will be 4-6:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. March 10, 2018 at Bethesda Lutheran Church 1517 Northwestern, Ames, Iowa
Helen Kirby Baschen was born February 3, 1923 in LaGrange, Il. the daughter of Fred and Helen Baschen. She graduated from high school, attended Iowa State College and later the University of Iowa. Helen married Paul Ingvoldstad Dec. 23, 1944 in Momence, Il. Paul was in the military and the next 25 years took the couple across the United Sates at different military bases moving to Ames in 1959 where Paul finished his career at ISU with the ROTC. Helen enjoyed Bethesda Lutheran Church, being active in church circles, volunteering at Homeward Hospice, and playing Bridge, as often as she could. She enjoyed her time with her family and being around people, she was a people person.

Helen is survived by her sons, Jim (Jan McAlister) Ingvoldstad, of Atlanta, GA, Joseph (Mary) Ingvoldstad, of Portland, OR, and daughter Susan (Manuel) Andrade of Amherst, MA, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a sister, Martha Olson of Manhattan, KS. Special friend Art Ketelsen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Ingvoldstad, daughter, Nancy Ingvoldstad, brother, Bill Baschen and a sister Susan Reising.

"I have worked at Northcrest for 2 years now. It was such a joy to get to see Helen each time I worked. We enjoyed talking ISU sports together.
