Eva Charlotte Paullus
December 2, 1917 - April 26, 2010

Eva Charlotte (Johnson) Paullus, 92, of Waukon, Iowa, formerly of Hampton, Iowa, passed away April 26, 2010, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. She was born on December 2, 1917, in Coulter, Iowa, to James and Laura (Pedersen) Johnson. Eva graduated from Hampton High School. She was united in marriage to DeWitt Frederick Paullus on May 9, 1936, in Hampton, Iowa. Eva was a homemaker and a farm wife. She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Eva enjoyed being with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, playing games and taking car trips. She is survived by her daughter: Janice (Lou) Kemp of Harpers Ferry; son: Jim (Frances) Paullus of Georgetown, Indiana; son: John (Mary) Paullus of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter: Joyce Avery (Tom Bowie) of Newton; nine grandchildren: Steve Kemp, Tom Kemp, Mark Kemp, Shari Brick, Shelley Lupo, Mike Paullus, Sara Marrufo, Christina Arend and Cynthia Avery and nineteen great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her husband DeWitt Paullus and three sisters: Harriet Dorf, Vera Schmidt and Hertha Shipper.
