Michael J. "Mike" Schniepp, 59, of Winona, MN died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home due to an apparent heart attack.
Michael Joseph Schniepp was born on October 25, 1958, in La Crosse, WI to Donald and Margaret (Degnan) Schniepp. He was raised in the Catholic school system in Winona and was a 1977 graduate of Winona Cotter Senior High School. Mike worked for 25 years at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Winona, several of those years as manager. He owned and operated Schniepp's Bar in Winona with his brother, Bill, for 20 years. Mike was a fan of all Minnesota sports teams. He loved to play golf and pool. He was a member of Westfield Golf Course and loved to make casino trips to Red Wing, MN.
Mike is survived by four siblings: Donald (Sue) Schniepp of St. Charles, MO, Bill (Sally) Schniepp, Tom (Melanie) Schniepp, and Mary (Don) Spitzer, all of Winona; 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister in infancy, and a niece, Sara Schniepp.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, MN. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Mike's family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

I remember meeting Mike when Schniepp's Bar was the Dog House. He was so welcoming and always asked "So what's new?"
