Zach Tabak
December 11, 1991 - April 22, 2018

Madison - Zach Tabak, 26, died early Sunday morning on April 22, 2018, in Madison, following a pedestrian/car accident in Middleton. He was an organ donor. Zach was born December 11, 1991 in Kansas City, Missouri but spent most of his life in Madison, attending Crestwood Grade, Jefferson Middle and Memorial High Schools, where he graduated in 2010. At Memorial he was a member of the varsity tennis team and bowling club. He earned a BA in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2014. He is the son of Diane and Larry Tabak of Madison. Zach was an enthusiastic participant in games of all sorts. He was a member of the Madison Backgammon Club and traveled to cities across the Midwest for competitions. Other pursuits included tennis, competitive pinball and Magic the Gathering, which he played avidly from a young age. He was also a familiar face at area poker tables. Zach was employed at WPS Insurance and aspired to an actuary career. He is survived by his parents; his older brother, Josh of San Francisco; and his grandfather, Tom Shanley of Des Moines. Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Temple Beth El, 2702 Arbor Drive, Madison 53711 with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 7302 Mineral Point Road. Charitable donations can be made to Temple Beth El, or a charity of choice meaningful to you. The family would like to thank the EMS responders and the staff at the UW Emergency Room.
