ST. CHARLES, MN - Mary Jane Harrison, 79, of St. Charles, MN died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN.
Mary Jane Loppnow was born in St. Charles to Norbert and ClaraBelle (Beutler) Loppnow on December 20, 1938. She was raised in the St. Charles area and was a 1956 graduate of St. Charles High School. On September 1, 1956, Mary Jane was united in marriage with David Harrison in St. Charles. She ran an in-home day care in St. Charles, then in later years she worked for Camera Art in Lewiston until her retirement. In her spare time, Mary Jane enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, ceramics, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family on the farm. Mary Jane was devoted to her family and friends and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Berea Moravian Church in St. Charles where she was the Financial Secretary.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, David; two sons: Jeff (Cheryl) Harrison of Stewartville, MN, Tim (Cammy) Harrison of Rose Creek, MN; five grandchildren: Laura (Jeremy) Jackson, Amy (Michael) Gehrking, T.J. (Laura) Harrison, Greg Harrison and Matthew Harrison; five great-grandchildren: Logan, Grady, Nora, Alex and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marleen Nelson.
There will be an 11:00 a.m. funeral service for Mary Jane on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Berea Moravian Church in rural St. Charles with the Reverend Franklin Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
The family prefers memorials to the Berea Moravian Church Building Fund, Chosen Valley Care Center, or to Seasons Hospice.
