Iva M. Sullivan, 93, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Sioux City, IA.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be at a later date.

Iva was born on September 7, 1924 in Emerson, NE, the daughter of Russell and Nellie (Linafelter) Williams. She graduated from Emerson High School, then earned a Nebraska Third Grade Elementary School Certificate and taught in a country school near Maskell, NE. Iva married the love of her life, Neil Sullivan on June 15, 1946 in Jackson, NE. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA in 1962, and her Master's Degree from USD in Vermillion, SD in 1970. She taught in the Sioux City School District for 42 years, beginning in Franklin School, then she taught second grade in Smith School and finished her carrier in Clark Elementary School. After Neil passed away on March 20, 2002, Iva opted for a simpler life and became a resident of Northpark (Brookdale) Senior Living.

Iva and Neil were members of St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE and were members of the Morningside Country Club for 30 years. They both enjoyed golf and social events at the Club and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary there. After retirement they enjoyed traveling and were able to visit Switzerland and Ireland. They also snow-birded in Texas and Nevada.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Nellie Williams; her husband, Neil Sullivan; and her sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Randall Flom.
