Betty Mae Hensel
January 6, 1964 - May 6, 2018

Betty enjoyed traveling and going on adventures; reading, arts and crafts, biking, hiking, attending local events and concerts and going to family reunions. Betty was noted for remembering details of events and dates; her ability to establish long-term relationships with an amazing number of people throughout the Winona community; and for her humor. She entertained many friends and co-workers with her funny stories. Betty was a faithful life time member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Betty is survived by her sister, Rosemarie "Susie" Doucette; special friend, Art Niemi who was her companion for many of her adventures; many beloved extended family and close friends, and her two deeply cherished cats, Cuddles and Wiggles who are now looking for a new forever home. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, William Doucette.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Rachel Riggle officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Hoff Celebration of Life Center-Goodview is assisting the family with arrangements.

"I attended grade school with Betty. One of many first classmates I can remember having. She lived on my paper route with her parents. Although I lost touch with Betty as we grew up, my memories of her are of her good nature and her willingness to be kind to others always. The world suffers when it loses kind people. We are all at a loss with Betty's passing. Peace be with you, Betty. You are missed."

"Betty is my aunt. Even though we didnt talk much, we talked quite a bit over the last couple months. We had some great laughs & i will miss that the most. Betty your laugh was contagious. I will miss your voice on the other end of the phone. We had made plans for this summer & I'm going to miss finalizing those. Its not fair you were taken from us to early. I hope youre dancing with the angels. Its not gonna be the same with you there & us here. I love you more than you knew. All my love Theresa (Marc) Bowser"

"My dear Betty...Sooo many memories over so many years! You never gave up on your classes wanting to excel. I'm so glad to be part of your educational goals and the friends after your college graduation. You NEVER missed classes...but when you did for 3 days, we all were worried! You had gone to Green Bay by way of Iowa! Your sense of humor brightened many of my days! I will miss have lunch together on your birthdays. We never worried having you "watch our house" when we vacationed. Fly.....Fly....Fly with the Angels, my beloved Betty. I will miss you. "
