In loving memory of

Margaret Scheffelman
April 13, 1922 - May 9, 2018

Margaret Scheffelman was born April 13, 1922 to Clark and Effie (Ford) Jennison in Riceville, Iowa. Margaret graduated from Corwith High School in 1940. She married Marvin Scheffelman in 1942 and lovingly raised three children; Denny, Paul, and Priscilla on a farm near Corwith, Iowa. Margaret was a determined farm partner to her husband. Besides many chores she assumed on the farm each day, she spent hours and hours in her kitchen feeding the many hands who came to help work on the farm. She also spent much time canning fruits and vegetables, sewing and baking for her family.

Margaret's hobbies included collecting birdhouses, rocks from her many travels near and far, and listening to her extensive music collection. In later years Margaret continued to love many home arts, including bread making and all types of needlework, especially quilting.

As a lifelong resident of Corwith, Margaret could often be seen on her daily power walks around town with her dog, Tina. Margaret was elected to the Corwith Town Council when she was in her 80's. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by her son, Paul (Dorothy) Scheffelman of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter, Priscilla Scheffelman of Moville, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Charlyn Scheffelman of Billings, Montana; her grandchildren, Joe and Rick Scheffelman, Monica (Curt) Borer, Matthew (Ying) Scheffelman , Sara Scheffelman, Christopher (Emily) Scheffelman, Benjamin Scheffelman, and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Denny Scheffelman; and sisters, Marian Barker and Alice Modlin.

Margaret's family wishes to thank Hospice of North Iowa and the nurses and staff at Westview Care Center for their loving care and dedication to Margaret's comfort.

"What a truly wonderful person. A great friend and neighbor to the Merriam family for a very long time. Margaret would keep me on the straight narrow as I grew up on the farm. She leaves behind many fond memories of a very nice time in my life and I'm sure the rest of my family would whole heartily agree. Tom Merriam "

"Fond memories of Margaret and the birthday we shared, what a good neighbor she was when we lived on the north end of town, and her delightful sense of humor.
