MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ramona B. 'Monie' Richter, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Susan Bantz of Lutheran Living will officiate. Private burial will take place in Nichols Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Food Pantry for Bags of Blessings or the Muscatine Humane Society.
Ramona was born on November 9, 1928, in Illinois City, Illinois, the daughter of George G. and Julia Ann Bailey Middagh. She married LaVaughn 'Juddy' Richter on June 11, 1966, in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1997.
She attended Spangler Chapel in her youth. She worked for Woolworth's as a bookkeeper and retired from Monsanto out of the Traffic Department. She was a 50 plus member of Muscatine Business and Professional Women and was also a long time member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing scrabble, working crossword puzzles, fishing with 'Juddy', and traveling.
Those left to honor her memory include several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dave and Nancy Wangberg.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, William F. 'Bill' and George 'Gene' Middagh; and four sisters, Lucille Middagh, Ella Lorene Zimmerman, Margaret Hartman, and one sister in infancy.
