Sheryl Ann Ruedebusch (aka Mimi) passed away on May 9, 2018 at the age of 71. Sheryl was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1946 and was currently residing in Columbia, Missouri. She was preceded in Death by her Mother, Beverly J. Hudson, Father, Robert W. Hudson and Brother, David P. Hudson. Sheryl is survived by two children, Charles (Mary) A. Ruedebusch II, John (Wendi) D. Ruedebusch and 5 grandchildren Mason(15), Connor(15), Tyler(13), Zeina(10) and Jake(4). In addition, she is also survived by siblings Mary L. (Ken) Redders, Judy (Jose) Hudson-Trujillo, Robert (Ginny) Hudson II, Dan Hudson, sister-in-law Lynn G. Hudson, as well as several nieces and nephews that have always been a special part of her life.
She has spent time living in Middleton, Madison and the Fox River Valley areas of Wisconsin. She also lived in Lake St. Louis, Missouri where she and Chuck Sr. raised their two sons and most recently in Columbia, Missouri near her sister, Mary. Sheryl was the consummate planner, prior to the birth of the first grandchild she let it be known that she would like to be called Mimi, which the grandchildren embraced as well as many others. She was an adventurous soul, she traveled to Hawaii several times (the most memorable being Chucks Maui Wedding), she adventured through Italy with her son John (retracing Beverly's path through Tuscany and Umbria), she traveled to Pawley Island South Carolina to visit the sea turtle nests with her sister Mary (where she staged turtle hatchling tracks across the sand in a photo op for her grandchildren) and traveled to Tokyo with her sister-in-law Nancy to get an inside look at a World Figure Skating Championship. Sheryl also was the President, Show Director and Coach for the LSL Water Ski Club for several years, led the Lake St Louis Venue for the Olympic festival in 1994 and was later asked to manage an Olympic venue for canoe kayak held at Lake Lanier during the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.
Mimi loved her family dearly and dedicated her time whenever possible. She gave a month of her time to be the live-in baby whisperer after the birth of each of her grandchildren, as well as making herself available to be in Madison, Lake St. Louis or San Francisco on a moment's notice. There are so many memories and so many people that she has touched over the years, that her sons will host a "Celebration of Life" party, which will be held in Lake St. Louis during the summer of 2018 [Date T.B.D.]
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglades Drive, Madison, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the mass at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the South Carolina Turtle Conservation Program, or adopt a nest in Mimi's name, she had a deep passion for the sea turtle hatchlings and was planning a family vacation with her sons and their families to South Carolina to be a nest volunteer. Her dream was to witness the turtle hatchlings scurrying towards the moonlight and into the sea with her 5 grandchildren.
