In loving memory of

Dudley A. Hall
December 13, 1930 - May 14, 2018

Few people come into your world and touch your life in a remarkable and special way. Dudley Ascroft Hall (affectionately known as "Duds") was one of those people with his great sense of humor, and his award winning smile. Dudley was passionate about Jazz music, great food and his attire. "Duds" was always dressed impeccably, tried his best to look like "Mr. GQ", and if his shirt ever had a wrinkle, he would stop to iron it, before walking out the door. Dudley was a serious music man with well over 200 CD's in his collection. Some of his favorites were: Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Billie Eckstine, Al Hirt and Andrea Bocelli to name a few. He was a world-wide traveler, and attended the Jamaican Jazz Festival for many years.

Dudley Ascroft Hall, 87 years old, after many years of illness passed away peacefully at his home in Pembroke Pines, with his loving wife Norma by his side on Monday, May 14, 2018. Dudley was born in Mandeville, Jamaica to Kathleen and Theodore Hall on December 13, 1930. He attended Manchester College High School where he graduated with a Cambridge Higher School Certificate. After graduation he held various positions at the following organizations: The Jamaica Court System, Alcan Bauxite Company, Kaiser Bauxite Company and National Baking Company. He also served in the Jamaica Defense Force. Dudley married Jean McDonald, and the union produced three sons; Michael, Douglas and Raymond.

Many years later Dudley became divorced, and decided to migrate to New York. He furthered his education by attending the Bronx Community College and obtained his Accounting degree. Upon graduation, he resumed working for the National Baking Company - NYC, and later Merrill Lynch Bank. He was a reserve with the US Coast Guard, and also owned and operated a retail store. While in New York, he met the love of his life Norma McClure, and would later marry her on March 26, 1966. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

As the winters grew harsh & bitter, Dudley longed for the warm sunshine from his homeland. In 1988, he packed up and moved his family to sunny Florida to start a new chapter. Dudley soon became acclimated and in December 1989, he began working with Mills Primary Care Clinic as the Cashier. In 1993 the North Broward Hospital District, took over the operations of the clinic from the county, and Dudley transitioned over as a District employee. He held various positions during his 17 years tenure, and was Coordinator/Accounting & Material - Seventh Avenue Family Health Center, prior to his retirement in September, 2006.
