"Although I retired from CSU/CEMML 14 years ago, I remember completing employment form for Paul as well as lots and lots of travel forms. We enjoyed many good conversations over the years and his smiling face is greatly missed. Mary Huwa"

Alan Mertens wrote on May 22, 2018:

"Me being an "office guy" and Paul being a "field guy", I looked forward to his field season stories to let me mentally escape the office, if only for a minute or two. He told some which caused me to laugh out loud. I especially remember enjoying the ones talking about attempting to fight off the chiggers in the south. We worked together for 15 years, and he was someone I sure looked forward to seeing."

"Karen, So sorry to hear of Paul?s passing. What I remember from school is that he had a gentle smile and was quiet. Hold your memories close in your heart. Janell (Fix) and Orv Dahl"

William Doe wrote on May 21, 2018:

"Paul was a valued colleague of mine for many years while working at Colorado State University in the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. Paul was a diligent and masterful "field worker" - meaning that this was his chosen place to be - in the field - and he was very good at it ! Paul could always be counted on to get the job done. His legacy is the many students and others that he trained in the field and the valuable surveys and assessments that he made on military lands. Well done. Rest in Peace. Dr. William Doe (LTC, U.S. Army, Retired) - former colleague at CSU"

Tammie and Gary Miller wrote on May 18, 2018:

"We fondly remember meeting Paul nearly 20 years ago when we were both building our homes here in Glacier View Meadows. We would share meals in our little camping trailer on days when we were up here working and Paul was living on his property next door building his new log home. We commiserated with each other and celebrated successes. He was amazing and ingenious figuring ways to hoist logs and doing what needed to be done by himself seldom asking for any help. We will miss him greatly. Tammie and Gary Miller "
