"In 1960, Mrs. Krull agreed to accept a 5 year old piano student. My big sister was taking lessons and I begged. She was patient and I thought she was so pretty. The piano is still a big part of my life. I had other teachers as she moved out the community for a time. But she was the first and I am grateful and have never forgotten her. May the Lord bring peace and comfort to her family. Mary Ellen (Wubben) Behrends"

"Marlene was my sister-in-law but Marlene called us "sisters". The memories are numerous - one trip to Norway with Marlene and Alroy to go back to her family roots, another trip to Norway on our own to visit areas of Norway and also she "got" to go along with us to Germany twice. Memories of helping them cater a wedding reception at a bar in Ames and the memories go on and on. Marlene was a terrific addition to our Germany family. Betty Krull Baker "
