Rosendo Ramirez Almaraz Sr.
January 17, 1949 - May 30, 2018

Rosendo Ramirez Almaraz Sr., 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He was born on January 17th, 1949 in Weslaco, TX to Alberto Almaraz and Maria Ramirez in Weslaco, Texas. He grew up in Weslaco, where he graduated high school. He attended Pan American University and married his high school sweetheart, Hermina Reyna. They raised their family in Weslaco, four children, Rosendo Jr., Rueben, George and Erika.
Rosendo began his career at General Telephone and Electric shortly after high school and eventually retired after over 30 years of service.
Rosendo was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bow and arrow hunting and was a gun collector and proud member of the NRA. He was a man of many talents, when Rosendo was not hunting or fishing, he enjoyed wood working, painting rodeo scenes, leather work and he even made custom knives. Rosendo loved a good barbeque because it was a way to bring family and friends together. He was a proud father and grandfather and one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.
Rosendo is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Maria Almaraz and his loving wife, Hermina Almaraz, sister, Diana Perez and brother, George Almaraz.
He is survived by his sons Rosendo Almaraz Jr. (Dora) of Weslaco, Rueben Almaraz (Kimberly) of Natalia, TX., and George Albert Almaraz of Weslaco, daughter, Erika Gonzalez (Raul) of Pharr, grandchildren, Samantha, Rosendo Cristian, Gavin Hector, Matthew, and Sophia, siblings, Elsa Martinez (Domingo), Cerjio Almaraz (Noemi), Javier Almaraz, and Ruben Almaraz, brother in law, Roy Perez, and sister in law, Zelma Almaraz, numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews and nieces.
