Bonnie Marie O'Leary
March 30, 1934 - June 3, 2018

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Burial is in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bonnie Marie O'Leary, daughter of Everett and Violet (Robinson) Knudson was born March 30, 1934 in Emmetsburg, IA. Her family moved to Pasadena, CA for eight years, and at the age of 14, the Knudson's returned to Emmetsburg.

On August 19, 1952, Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert O'Leary at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. They farmed for five years, then moved to town and built a new home. They grew out of their home and moved to a six bedroom home across town where they raised their four boys.

Bonnie cooked at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg for four years. Then she cooked and cleaned for the local priests for 12 years. They were totally spoiled with her delicious meals. Bonnie loved to camp, cook, babysit grandchildren, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy life.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish for 65 years. On Sunday, June 3, 2018, Bonnie passed away at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.
Lelft to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert, Sr.; sons, Robert Jr. (Yvonne) of Sibley, IA and Daniel (Gloria) of Emmetsburg, IA; grandchildren: Janell, Jay, Daniel, Wendy, Ken, Pete, Chrystal, Mike and Jennifer; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Evertt and Violet; two sisters: Bettty Fordyce and Beverly Thiel; two sons: Peter and Kenneth O'Leary; and her great-grandaughter, Hayley Ann.
