Duane R. Powell
January 15, 1943 - June 11, 2018
After a protracted battle with cancer, Duane Powell, 75, died peacefully at his home on June 11, 2018, with his best friend by his side. He entered this world on January 15, 1943 in La Crosse, WI, born to Ellen (Fuhre) and Riley Powell. He is survived by his two daughters, Kyla Powell and Audra Jonsgaard; four grandchildren, Brooke Powell, Sumner Becker, Makeshia Powell, and Isaiah Powell; one great-grandchild, Paislee Howell; and brother, Keith (Judy) Powell. After graduation, Duane served 4 years in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Duane will be cremated, and no funeral service will be held per his wishes. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: Winona Health Hospice, family and friends - either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness through total "strangers."
