"I?m sorry I won?t be able to be there in person to celebrate the life of someone who made a huge impact on my life and the lives of many who knew him. Coach was one of the most influential people in my life. He guided, coached & expected you to do your best, but he seldom yelled (Gee took care of that;-) ) and was always respectful of us as individuals and as a team. Even after high school, he cared about each of us and quietly supported us as we made our way in life. We have lost a very special man and my heart goes out to Lou and his family. Thanks for sharing him with us! Love, Kathy Wiemer "

"Mr Maynes was my 7th grade teacher. He retired the end of my 8th grade year and I cried at the pep rally we had for him. I was in his class when I learned about 9/11. He stood in front of scared children and ensured us we were going to be ok. My favorite assignment was building our bridges. But don?t you even try to mouth off to Mr Maynes. He?d knock you on the noggon with his knuckles ?? "

"Lou you and your family are in my heart, so sorry for your loss. It was mentioned that we share one of our favorite memories of Larry. Well first off for several years you were my next door neighbor (Sandy Fay). But one memory that I will never forget is when I was a freshman. I was the girls track student manager and one of our realy teams made it to state. I was very happy for the team, but to my surprise Coach let me join them in Des Moines. For being one of the biggest and most faithful Panther fans it was truly the best part of my freshman year. A memory I will always have because of Coach Maynes."
