In loving memory of

Shirley Jean Hansberger
August 13, 1935 - June 12, 2018

Shirley Jean Hansberger passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born August 13, 1935 and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. Once married and starting a family of her own, she moved to Tampa, FL in 1963 and later moved to Ft. Lauderdale.

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Susan, Lori (Richard), and Wendy; two granddaughters Lindsey and Abbey; brother Larry; and her constant companion, her dog Buddy. Shirley was a loyal, kind, and loving soul. Her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes would light up any room. She had a great appreciation of life and relationships, and made everyone feel like they mattered. Shirley enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, playing Bunco, and going to the movies. She was a positive influence to all who knew her and a lifelong friend to many. Shirley was the heart, soul, and center of the family, always giving of herself while never expecting anything in return. She adored her family and relished the time spent with them, especially during the holidays. She always went out of her way to make their time together extra special. Her strong spirit even radiated during difficult times always reminding us that "This too shall pass". Shirley lived her life with grace and gratitude. Her positive spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of many. She will be remembered by those that knew her and was truly a blessing to all. We love you MORE...

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 21, 2018 at Christ Church United Methodist in Ft. Lauderdale with a reception to follow (to be announced). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

"Dear Suzy, Lori and Wendy. I am saddened to hear of the passing of my longtime friend. Nothing is more vivid in my many memories of our friendship that the time we spent with our children. She and her family were very dear to me and helped lighten the anxiety of time spent waiting out my husband's deployment during the VietNam war. Linda Dilger"
