Jeannie "Jean" Ann Dietz, 69, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
She was born July 24, 1948, in Belmond, Iowa, to Clem and Gertrude (Osterman) Diesburg. Jean was educated in Carlsbad, California. She was united in marriage to Dean Dietz on September 8, 1978, in Clarksville, Iowa. Jean worked various jobs; some of which included cooking at The Woodshed restaurant near Hansell and Highway 3 Café in Dumont, she worked at Dumont Telemarketing and as a seamstress at Powers Manufacturing in Allison. She was affiliated with St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton. Jean enjoyed sewing, baking, putting puzzles together and watching John Wayne. She loved spending time with and preparing large meals for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband Dean Dietz of Dumont, daughter Kathy (Rollie) Doty of Clarksville, daughter Theresa (Chris Cook) Bosley of Gentry, Arkansas, son Chad (Tammy) Dietz of Muscatine, daughter Patricia (Jeremy) Schmidt of Dumont, son Shawn (Alexis) Dietz of Hampton, seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Mary) Diesburg of Florida, sister Alice Schaa of Osage, brother Larry Diesburg of California, brother Mike (Wanda) Diesburg of Clarksville, sister-in-law Shirley Diesburg of Denver, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Johnny Joe, brother Ray Diesburg, sister Debbie Sue Diesburg, brother-in-law Kenneth Schaa and sister-in-law Barb Diesburg.
