In loving memory of

Theron Varec
July 7, 1943 - June 20, 2018

Theron Richard Lee Roy Varec a Vietnam Veteran was born on July 7th, 1984, in Long Island, New York. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was apart of history that changed this country. When some people put on the stripe they became a different person, but not Roy, he stayed down to earth. He was drafted to serv in one of the harshest, more horrible wars of all times. Always being known to his son as a protector, he chose to hold his head up high and by the graces of God he made it home alive. Roy, being the strong man he was, left his son with a perfound memory of being bounced on those very knees that were surgically put back together due to having served in Vietnam on Hamburger Hill also known as Hill 937. After the war, he traveled to where he considered home in York, South Carolina and soon became apart of the steel manufactoring industry at a local business called Alcan soon enough moving to Thyssenkrupp in Richburg, South Carolina, where he later retired from. He had the right personality for the job and had the right personality for the job and had a good style of humor. Roy was always very optimistic, charming capable and hardworking! He loved people and was the go-to-person when you needed something. Roy is survived by by his beloved son of 34 years, Theron Micheal Richard Varec, his daughter Lil' Mary Bell-Varec of 37 years old, and his brother Danny Bennett. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and will be dearly missed by his family and friends, for there will be non-other like him. At this time no services will be preformed or planned due to the respects of his son and daughter's wishes.
