Alice Wood
March 11, 1930 - June 25, 2018
Alice Lou Wood, age 88 of Monroe, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Homestead of Knoxville surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will be held on July 10th, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Alice was born on March 11, 1930, in Monroe to Lou and Alice (Garrett) Thomasson. She was united in marriage to Daryl Wood on December 4, 1948. To this union three children were born; Kirby, Jody and Matt. Alice worked at Pella Corp for a number of years. She loved camping and winters in California, Arizona, and Texas.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 69 years, Daryl; her three children, Kirby (Marla) Wood of Eddyville, Jody Wood of Monroe, and Matt (Debbie) Wood of Newcastle, California; six grandchildren, Cale (Rachel), Kris (Rick), Josh (Tracy) Joe (Jessie), Sarah (Shane), and Cole (Stephanie); and nine great grandchildren, all of which she loved immensely. She was preceded in death by her parents.
