Virginia May McGinity
October 30, 1924 - July 6, 2018

Virginia May McGinity, 93, of Burlington died 5:15 a.m. July 6, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 30, 1924 in Burlington, Iowa she was the daughter of Rueben J. and Florence (Sheets) Bowman. She married Oscar L. McGinity on October 3, 1943 in Kahoka, Missouri. He died April 2, 2003.
Virginia was a homemaker. She previously worked at National Research, Great River Medical Center (BMC) and worked in the lunchroom at Corse School.
She loved camping, fishing, sewing and embroidery. She was an avid reader both books and on tablets and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. She was notorious for her Sunday family dinners. She was a loving mother and enjoyed her time spent with her family.
Survivors include her six children; Oscar (Sandra) McGinity Jr. of Carman, Illinois, Thomas McGinity and James McGinity both of Burlington, Kenneth (Darla) McGinity of Ozark, Alabama, Debra (Kevin) Ryner and Michael McGinity both of Burlington; 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and six brothers.
A memorial has been established for Disabled American Veterans.
