Canton-Josephine "Josie" Beaird, 89, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, in peace, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 26, 1928 in Canton to Matthew and Frances (Kosher) Sepich. They preceded her in death.
She married Bennie L. Beaird on April 15, 1950 in Canton. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2011.
Surviving are six children, Benjie Beaird of Canton, Stephen (Mary) Beaird of Fiatt, Patti (Bill) Riley of We-Ma-Tuk, Sue (Tom) Mahrt of Canton, Jane (Robbin Bessler) Manock of Canton, Paula (Mike) Monari of Farmington, nine grandchildren, Ben Beaird, Stevie Beaird, Brian Beaird, Sarah Gray, Jessica Sonntag, Maisie Schroeder, Lottie Phillips, Tara Cox, Geoffrey Monari, three step grandchildren, Laura Fones, Mike Davison, Lyle Dry, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews..
Also preceding her in death is her infant daughter, Mary, eleven brothers, two sisters, grandson Ryan McCrae, step grandson Damon Sepich and great granddaughter Meagan Beaird.
Together with her husband Josie owned and operated "Josie B's Tap" in Canton from 1982-2006. She always enjoyed being around others and was of the Catholic Faith.
She was a die-hard Cubs fan and was the only one of her siblings to see the Cubs win a World Series!
Most of all Josie was a loving, giving and caring Mother and Grandmother.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Noon at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation from 10 am -noon at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made out to the St. Mary's Food Pantry, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Children's Hospital of Illinois.
